Xiaomi uses blade batteries to cut off the short range of four-wheel drive?

The low-power four-wheel drive version of Xiaomi YU7 is likely to have lower energy consumption than the rear wheel drive version. In the new batch of applications from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, there are two interesting pieces of information. Firstly, the newly added dual motor low-power version uses the same 96.3kWh battery as the single motor, with a curb weight of 2425kg, which is 110kg heavier than the latter. In theory, single motor models with lightweight advantages tend to be more energy-efficient under the same battery capacity, corresponding to longer pure electric range. However, the new car's pure electric range can reach up to 770km, which is 45km more than the single motor rear wheel drive (725km); Secondly, this time the Xiaomi YU7 no longer uses the Ningde Times 4C Shenxing battery equipped in the Xiaomi SU7, but instead chooses to be provided by Freddie. This has led to two thoughts: how did the Xiaomi YU7 achieve four-wheel drive with longer battery life and energy consumption than the two wheel drive? What are the effects of new batteries?

4 more air ducts than Model Y, can the range be increased by 30km?

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, which was launched this month, has more than just a price of 529900 yuan in its memory, it is more about its mastery of aerodynamics. In addition to the electric rear spoiler below the rear of the car and the exaggerated size of the original tail wing, as well as the front shovel, side skirts, and fender air ducts, these flat and aggressive details have only one core purpose, which is to reduce wind resistance and generate sufficient air pressure for the vehicle during high-speed movement. In the optional part, a carbon fiber perforated hood with extremely low production capacity is also provided. This series of designs with strong wind resistance can be traced in the wind tunnel. Although the positioning of Xiaomi YU7 this time is not a performance monster, but a return to a comfortable SUV for home use, from the details, the new car seems to pay more attention to wind resistance than the regular version of Xiaomi SU7.

From the actual car of Xiaomi YU7, at least two increments can be obtained. Firstly, both the wheelbase and Xiaomi SU7 are 3 meters, even shorter than the Ferrari Purosangue, but the long front overhang and short rear overhang will make the longitudinal space inside the cabin more spacious. I have to answer a question here. Purosangue cannot make the short L113 because the longitudinal engine takes up a large amount of front axle space, and the V6 motor in the front of Xiaomi YU7 cannot exceed the volume specification of the former. Why do we need to elongate the front suspension? On the one hand, based on the long front overhang, the main body of the front panel can move forward towards the front of the car, thereby expanding the legroom of the front passenger compartment. The short rear overhang allows the second row seats to be placed closer to the wheel arches. On the other hand, without considering the third row, the most efficient way to utilize space is to shorten the rear overhang. Considering the need to avoid large turning radii and the upper limit of chassis space layout, the long front overhang undoubtedly has higher efficiency. Specifically, in terms of experience, the longitudinal space redundancy of the new car's second row is bound to exceed that of the Huanxin Model Y and Xiaomi SU7.

Secondly, in addition to the conventional air ducts on both sides of the front bumper, the Xiaomi YU7 also has large air ducts reserved above the headlights and hood. The air in the upper part of the front of the car will quickly pass through the main flow ports of the headlights on both sides, some will flow out from the fenders on both sides, and some will crash forward from near the top of the tower
